Crazy Schedule Changes

Posted On: Fri, 2007-02-16 15:09 by mrschmid

Stree Relief Sign First I have a sick day and we have a snow day last week. That basically brought a 5 day week down to 2. Now this week we have three snow days and class on Monday and Friday only. The end of the quarter is coming very quickly. We only have 18 class days before the quarter's over and we move on to Python.
So here's the plan. We need to have 27 pages when all is said and done on March 14th.

Using great images without breaking copyright

Posted On: Mon, 2007-01-22 02:19 by mrschmid

You can't take just any picture and throw it up on a web site Photographs are protected by copyright, and we need to be sure to abide by the law. Here's a few ways to get great photos for your site

• Take your own - Grab your digital camera or borrow someone's and take the pictures you need. You'll get exactly what you want.
• Ask permission - Find a great photo online and contact the owner to ask for permission. Many times an owner will be happy that you at least asked, and they will gladly allow you to use their photos.
• Find free stock photos - Here's a few sites that post photos with the rights for you to use them. Be sure you check the agreement before using a photo. They can change, and anything you do is your responsibility.
Be careful what you search for, photos sometimes aren't easy to filter.
Here's a list of places to find images that aren't under standard copyright. Be sure to check each web site's conditions because they might vary. Also, I can't guarantee what you'll find on these sites, so be careful what search term you use and what you might find.
