This exam is over anything in chapters 4-6

-What is a word processor

-What is a/an title bar, tool bar, rulers, insertion point, status bar

-What is overtype mode and how do you get out of it

-How many spaces go after a period and why

-What are the useful shortcuts to move the insertion point (ctrl+arrow moves from word to word, Home or end takes you to the beginning of the line, ctrl+home or ctrl+end takes you to the beginning or end of the document)

-The delete key deletes to the right and the backspace key deletes to the left

-insert+symbol lets you insert symbols like copyrights

-what is word wrap

-what is the paragraph marks button and what are the symbols used in paragraph marks e.g. arrow, dot

-spelling arrow- red, grammar arrow- green

-spell check is often wrong

-purple dotted line is the smart tag indicator- (used for addresses

-find text by going to edit+find

-a thesaurus is help to find synonyms and antonyms (found under tools+language+thesaurus)

-know shortcuts for cut, copy and paste- cut= Ctrl+X, copy= Ctrl+C, paste= Ctrl+V

-know san serif and serif fonts

-know what bold, italic and underline are

-know sub script & super script

-there are 72 points in an inch

-know what clipboard is

-know the alignments (left, center, right, justified)

-know how to insert a hyperlink and get rid of a hyperlink

-know what document collaboration is and how to do it in word

-know what the reveal formatting task pane is

-know what margins and pagination is

-know the paper the size for paper lettering (8.5 x 11)

-default margins are 1.25 on both sides and an 1 on the top and bottom- get to the by file+page setup

-automatic page breaks happen automatically and manual page breaks are inserted manually

-know what header and footers are and how to get to them

-know how to insert page numbers, dates, times, and how to make it so the page numbers don’t start on the first page

-know what tab stops are and which are which- left, right, center, decimal

-know what single spacing and double spacing are and how to get to them from the menu and what the shortcuts are- ctrl+1 for single and ctrl+2 are double

-for indentation u move the right or left indent marker

-know what a hanging indent is

-know what bulleted lists and number lists are

-footnotes- insert+reference+footnote

-know how to add a picture to a domument- insert+picture etc

-not to distort the image drag image from the corner

-know what html is- file+save as webpage

-tables (row goes across, column goes up and down and a cell is the intersection of a row and column)

-know the pointer changes for the tables

-know how to change the column width and height

-know what a style is

-know what hyphenation is

-know what outline view is

-know what T.O.C. and what it stands for and also how to inset it

-know how to insert a hyperlink

-know what section breaks are

-know about section headers and footers

-know how to make a 2 fold brochure (know why you are making it and who you are making it for)
